Venture further and discover our stunning dining room, a canvas of sophistication where culinary artistry takes center stage. Nearby, the lively bar area beckons with the promise of expertly crafted libations and a vibrant atmosphere. For those seeking entertainment, our stage sets the scene for unforgettable performances. Behind the scenes, our state-of-the-art kitchen and charcoal line hum with the energy of passionate chefs, crafting culinary masterpieces. And for those seeking an intimate gathering, our private dining spaces offer a secluded oasis, where every detail is tailored to your desires.
Exterior
What was once just fire-charred, sun-faded brick and blackened wood frame is now the restored face of a historic Jackson landmark. The original west wall rises overhead while the name, Iron Horse Grill, proudly stretches out in white and black across the red brick. The setting sun gleams off metal, glass and polished wood as greeters open the large double doors. Welcome to The Iron Horse.
Lobby & Shop
The scent of spice and charcoal greets you as you enter the spacious lobby. After talking with one of our smiling hostesses spend a few moments watching our chefs sear hand-cut steaks on the wood-fired grill behind a long window where delicious aromas waft from the kitchen.
Dining Room
Generous seating sprawls across the main dining room. Servers bustle around with steaming food and sweating drinks while their guests laugh at good jokes and catch up with old friends. Even beneath a lofty ceiling the cozy booths and tables maintain a conversational atmosphere. That is until the music starts. Then the real fun begins.
Bar
Behind a gleaming zinc bar top rows of top shelf spirits stand at attention beside a custom sixteen strong beer tap, many of these brews made right here in Mississippi. Beneath repurposed industrial lighting the able bartenders spin bottles, shake ice, pour whisky, and tell stories to the appreciation of their patrons who perch atop custom stools, some even crafted from broken-in reclaimed saddles.
Stage
This is where the magic happens. Three nights a week local musicians and regional acts take the stage and move the room. Mississippi's own Peavey provides the sound while Stephen Barnett's Davaine Lighting flashes along with the show. Behind it all is the iconic Iron Horse logo, a mural detailing the history of Mississippi music and Jackson alike.
Kitchen & Charcoal Line
While musical magic happens on the stage culinary spells are cast within the kitchen. Chef Pierre Pryer Sr. hand-selects high-quality local products like Mississippi catfish, chicken, and locally-grown veggies for the much-loved recipes he has developed over decades.
Private Dining
Our private dining rooms accommodate groups large and small. Enjoy dinner in the sole surviving smoke shaft, illuminated by Edison lights. Relax, surrounded by original smokehouse brick peeking through crumbled patina, on softened leather couches and armchairs with a specialty cocktail in hand before or after dinner in our lounge area. This is life in the hospitality state.

Dining Room
Leading from the lobby to the second floor our grand staircase is framed by repurposed tin, reddened by time, and a patchwork of reclaimed wooden panels. The stair is crowned with a custom Peavey guitar chandelier. The balcony looking out over the lower dining room has a perfect view of the stage and Iron Horse mural. A second bar ensures full glasses and good humor throughout the experience.

The Mississippi Music Experience is our tribute to the deep roots American music has in our state. Lifelike wax statues of famous Mississippi musicians handcrafted by Anne Robin Luckett and an expansive collection of memorabilia create an engaging exploration of musical history.
